小君ior Guide Program
线上买球平台 Montessori, in partnership with 埃文斯顿 Township High School and Beacon Academy, is excited to announce a new employment opportunity during the summer for high school students seeking to gain experience working in an educational setting. The 小君ior Guide position will work with the 线上买球平台 summer staff to support the summer school program for children ages 2-3 or 4-6. The position will introduce 小君ior Guides to a 蹒跚学步的 or Early Childhood setting, familiarize them with the routine of young children’s days, and acclimate them to the expectations of working as a team member to further children’s development.
Our 2024 summer camps run 9 weeks with student programming beginning on 小君e 10 and ending on August 7. The summer school program is organized in 3 sessions: 小君e 10–小君e 28, 7月y 1–7月y 19, and 7月y 22–August 7. Guide positions are offered all 3 sessions from 8:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday. 小君ior Guides may work 1, 2, or all 3 of the sessions. 小君ior Guides are expected to attend training hosted by 线上买球平台 prior to program start, as well as two days of classroom set up for those 小君ior Guides working during the first session (小君e 7-8) and two days of classroom breakdown for those working during the final session (August 8-9).
The 小君ior Guide’s responsibilities include maintaining supervision and safety inside the classroom and outdoors on the playground, regularly communicating with head and assistant teachers, and building relationships with students. 小君ior Guides will also help prepare the classroom, including helping with snack and lunch, assisting napping students, and reorganizing materials at the end of the day. While summer school at 线上买球平台 does not utilize Montessori materials, 线上买球平台 Montessori believes that, as Maria Montessori wrote, “children are human beings to whom respect is due,” and summer school puts this into action by treating even the youngest students as capable human beings.
Qualified candidates must be current high school students in good academic standing and legally eligible to work. The ideal candidate is patient and comfortable with children, willing to take direction from experienced teachers, and eager to have hands-on experience in a classroom setting and during outdoor play.
